Interesting news from Japan Today
Sixty-one percent of wives have checked the call and e-mail histories or other records on their husbands’ mobile phones to see if their partners are concealing anything, a recent survey by an Internet research company showed Monday. According to the survey covering 500 married women aged from 20 to 39 conducted by Tokyo-based Macromill Inc earlier this month, 35% of those who checked their husbands’ cell phones said they were looking to see if their partners were having extramarital affairs, while 34% said they did so out of curiosity and 28% said they were checking to see if their husbands were hiding anything from them.
The survey also found that 45% of respondents had higher phone bills than their husbands. The survey was conducted prior to Nov 22, designated as ‘‘Happy Partners Day’’ by the Japan Productivity Center, a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and various industry bodies are backing the day to help married couples build better relationships.
