As an expatriates staying in Grand Bay area we do tend to stick to the places which became more of a «socializing meccas». I am listing the restaurants that we like and visit regularly. Will start with top three (please, do not judge or criticize as this is my independent rating). Will continue with the other list as there are more than three great places to eat out in Grand Bay. Will also add clubs and discos.
Beach House birthday menu, Mauritius, Grand Bay
The true mecca is Beach House and I would rank it as Number 1. Great food, excellent location and atmosphere. Run by CABOUS VAN DER WESTHUIZEN - great personality, true South African with the Russian soul
Beach House is located in the heart of Grand Bay on the Coastal Road. Can’t miss it. Tel. +230 263 2599

Patch and Parrot
Number 2 would go to Patch N Parrot (Patch and Parrot). The Patch and Parrot combines a traditional pub’s warmth and coziness with a contemporary and comfortable full service restaurant. The place is great to watch sports on the many big TV screens. Very simple and tasty food from burgers to lasagna. Democratic prices and the best pizza. Try Hot Beef — yammy. It is located in Pamplemousses, Royal Road, Pointe aux Canonniers (Opposite Centre Medicale du Nord). Tel. +230 269 0374
Number 3 would go to La Cigale Pizzaria. It was one of the top places we were eating out because both my son and my husband go bananas about good crust pizza. The crust is unique and we still go to La Cigale, but Patch and Parrots bit them up and are making a wonderful crust but the filling is better than in La Cigale. It is located on the Royal Road, Pointe aux Canonniers, right on the corner before the turn to Grand Bay Gym and to Hotel 20 Degres Sud. Tel. in La Cigale +230 263 0913
PS. I just saw a very good post on Thaifoon restaurant — another popular place for dining in Grand Bay that I was planning to talk about, but just posting the reference to the blog. It tells it all.
+1000 for Beach House.
Say hello to Cabous!
Dima will tell him for sure. All our visitors from Russia and all the visitors that our expatriate team has become Beach House fans
